The price of raw shrimp purchased by traders in Bac Lieu (white-leg shrimp, hemp shrimp) increased by 5,000 - 10,000 VND/kg. Antibiotic-proof shrimp and pond shrimp with 30 shrimp are purchased by traders at prices ranging from 185,000 - 188,000 VND/kg; 40 shrimp/kg costs 145,000 VND; 90 shrimp/kg costs 98,000 VND... With this price, after deducting expenses, shrimp farmers make quite a profit.
According to forecasts from companies and associations for seafood processing and export, the market is showing quite positive signs of recovery. However, currently, shrimp farmers in Bac Lieu are almost out of shrimp. This is the time to renovate ponds to prepare for the new shrimp crop, so prices have increased.

Shrimp farmers in Bac Lieu have proactively strictly implemented the farming process, focusing on human resources, material resources, dredging, repairing, renovating ponds and lagoons, and treating the water environment before entering the new farming season. At the same time, expand the area of aquaculture using high technology, intensive farming, apply VietGAP process.
In recent years, shrimp farmers have always faced many difficulties and challenges not only because of high farming costs and low shrimp prices, but also because pathogens on farmed shrimp are increasingly spreading and being difficult to control. If only the process was renovated through the process of breeding before, it would be very difficult to succeed, so the current process of renovating ponds and lagoons is being very carefully and meticulously done by shrimp farmers.

A paradox is that shrimp prices are constantly fluctuating, epidemics are rampant, farming costs are increasing... causing many farming households to hang ponds and wait for prices, but the top products serving the shrimp farming process are constantly adjusting prices in the direction of increasing. Of which, the largest increase is plastic pipes, iron pipes and pond tarpaulins. These items increased by an average of 1,000 - 10,000 VND compared to previous crops. In addition, the price of hiring workers to help with tasks such as: cleaning ponds, dredging water pipes, cleaning oxygen pipes, pulling tarpaulins... also increased from 100,000 - 150,000 VND/person/day.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vinh Trach commune, Bac Lieu city, Bac Lieu province - said: After each shrimp farming crop, during the care process, the amount of excess food, waste and pathogens accumulated at the bottom and bank of the pond will pollute the pond environment. If not renovated and treated carefully, it is easy for future shrimp generations to develop epidemics. Therefore, we have to hire more people to renovate the pond. Along with that, maintenance, repair, and installation of necessary equipment for farming...
