In the first 6 months of 2025, the socio-economic situation of Khanh Hoa province continued to have positive changes with many targets achieved quite well, creating an important foundation to enter a new development stage after merging with Ninh Thuan province.
According to the report of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, the total product in the province (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 7.01% over the same period last year. Total social development investment capital reached about VND37,424 billion, up 15.5%, equivalent to 38.7% of the annual plan. State budget revenue reached VND 14,751.9 billion, a sharp increase of 54.9% and completed 61.2% of the 2025 estimate.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue is estimated at VND 72,500 billion, up 16.2%, equal to 49.5% of the annual plan. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 31,031.1 billion, up 19.1%, with about 6.2 million visitors. Export turnover reached 1,160 million USD, up 11% over the same period.
In addition to economic indicators, planning work continues to be focused on. The Provincial People's Committee promotes the completion of important plans, ensuring social security, taking care of people's health, and administrative reform. The restructuring of the apparatus is carried out vigorously in accordance with the progress and direction of the Central and the Politburo.
However, the province still faces many difficulties, such as: GRDP growth not meeting expectations, low industrial production index due to decreased electricity and bird's nest output; slow site clearance, affecting project progress; low progress of public investment disbursement and project implementation outside the budget; complicated epidemic situation; increased traffic accidents...
Concluding the meeting to evaluate the first 6 months of the year, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan requested all levels and sectors to urgently overcome the shortcomings and synchronously deploy solutions to promote socio-economic development in the last 6 months of the year.
In particular, he emphasized the review of infrastructure, headquarters, vehicles, and administrative procedures to ensure the organization of handover and acceptance on June 27, ready for new administrative units to operate smoothly and effectively from July 1 after the merger of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces.
The province will also focus on assessing and reviewing the growth drivers of the new province after the merger to adjust the economic growth scenario in 2025, creating a solid foundation towards the "double-digit" growth target in the period of 2026 - 2030.
In addition, Khanh Hoa will effectively implement the approved plans, urgently adjust the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 to suit the new space and development strategy. The coverage of zoning plans and urban planning will be the basis for attracting investment and implementing projects in accordance with regulations.
The province strives to achieve a public investment disbursement rate of 95% or more, ensuring no interruption after the restructuring of the apparatus. At the same time, successfully organize the 2025 high school graduation exam, and continue to fully and promptly implement social security policies, taking care of people's lives.
