Ho Chi Minh City discovers cosmetics business establishment of unknown origin

On May 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department said that it had discovered and temporarily seized tens of thousands of products of unknown origin.

Through area management, Market Management Team No. 11 discovered a business household in Tan Tao ward storing cosmetics that do not show the origin of goods, showing signs of not ensuring quality according to regulations and not safe for users.

Conducting an inspection of the above-mentioned business household, Market Management Team No. 11 discovered that the establishment was storing and trading 820 units of cosmetic products of all kinds (tubes, bottles) without invoices or documents proving legality; not showing origin; having original labels in foreign languages but no auxiliary labels in Vietnamese; no quality declaration documents attached. The goods included 470 tubes of 377 fade melasma whitening cream, type 30g/tube; 70 bottles of unbranded perfume, type 50ml/tube; and 280 tubes of acne-preventing whitening cream. The total value of goods according to the listed price is 39,850,000 VND.

Market Management Team No. 11 has temporarily seized all of the above-mentioned violating goods, and at the same time proposed handling related administrative violations and applying measures to handle violating exhibits according to regulations.

Previously, through the implementation of professional measures and area management, Market Management Team No. 13 discovered and inspected 13 organizations and individuals doing business in Hoc Mon and Dong Thanh communes, with activities of offering goods on social networks, including 3 organizations and individuals doing food business.

Exhibits inspected and temporarily seized for handling according to legal regulations include 13,065 units of products (foodstuffs, clothing, fabrics, detergents) without labels; unclear origin; without legal invoices and documents as prescribed. The total value of violating goods is 463,944,800 VND.

Market Management Team No. 13 has temporarily seized all of the above-mentioned violating goods and established procedures to sanction administrative violations with a total amount of 679,000,000 VND, of which 03 violations related to food were fined with the amount of 291,500,000 VND.
