HCMC handles a series of intellectual property infringement cases

On June 16, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department informed that it had handled many violations and temporarily seized nearly 1,000 counterfeit branded goods.

In a recent inspection and market control campaign, combating counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights, Market Management Team No. 10 handled 12 cases of individuals and organizations violating regulations related to trading in counterfeit trademarks, infringing intellectual property rights of many famous brands protected in Vietnam.

Functional forces have temporarily seized more than 600 units of products including shoes, clothes, glasses, phone components... with a total estimated value of more than 120.5 million VND. The total amount of administrative violation fines is 189 million VND.

In addition to administrative sanctions, Market Management Team No. 10 also applied remedial measures, forcing the destruction of all counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights according to the provisions of law.

In addition, Market Management Team No. 20 has also simultaneously deployed a peak period in the area under management. As of May 31, 2026, the unit has inspected and handled 7 cases of intellectual property violations; temporarily seized 317 units of goods with a total value of 42.345 million VND.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Market Management, this peak period is therefore not only a simple administrative inspection activity but also an important solution to restore market discipline and improve the awareness of law compliance of production and business organizations and individuals in the area.
