On the first day of the April 30 - May 1 holiday, many people choose to stay in Hanoi instead of traveling or returning to their hometown.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper, from 10am this morning, Aeon Mall Ha Dong Shopping Center (Ha Dong District, Hanoi City) was packed with people. Here, the food and beverage area and cinema are the most "attractive" places.
The automatic kiosk of a fast food store in this shopping mall always has dozens of people lining up. On average, customers take 20 - 25 minutes to complete the food purchase.
"Although I have to wait, I find it less difficult than having to leave the city these days. This morning, I read the newspaper and saw that the elevated Ring Road 3 and the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway were congested for tens of kilometers," said Mr. Minh (Nghe An).

Talking to Lao Dong on the morning of April 30, a representative of AEON Vietnam said that this year's April 30 - May 1 holiday lasts 5 days, coinciding with the weekend, which is expected to boost consumer demand. The system expects the number of customers coming to shopping malls to increase by about 15% - 20% compared to normal days, especially during peak hours in the afternoon and evening.
To meet the sharp increase in shopping demand during the holiday, AEON Vietnam said - it will commit to ensuring a full supply of essential goods at stable prices. Enterprises strengthen coordination with suppliers, avoid shortages, and expand product portfolio to diversify options for consumers.
According to AEON Vietnam, in order to better serve customers' shopping and entertainment needs during the holiday, it will increase operating hours at General shopping centers and supermarkets nationwide, opening earlier and closing later.
Accordingly, in the South, it will open from 8:00 or 9:00 to 22:00 or 22:30 in the North from 8:00 to 22:30 or 23:00 in the period from April 30 to May 4.

Similarly, Lao Dong noted that a large commercial center in Tay Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi City has also been full of parking spaces since early noon. Inside the shopping mall, thousands of people gathered in dining and shopping areas.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Thanh (in Tay Mo, Hanoi) said that during this year's holiday, he chose to stay in Hanoi. "The airfares are expensive, so my family won't travel this year. Being at home, shopping at supermarkets is more fun and practical," said Mr. Thanh.

At Lotte Mall Tay Ho Shopping Center (Tay Ho District), recorded on the morning of April 30, the number of visitors coming to visit, shop and eat was quite large.
Ms. Nguyen Huong and her husband shared: "This year's holiday, my family will not go far but stay in Hanoi. Shopping malls are an ideal choice because children can play and watch movies; adults go to supermarkets and shop".
At Vincom Mega Mall Royal City (Thanh Xuan District), experiential activities with the theme of National Day holidays attract a large number of parents and children. "I took my child out to play in the center. She is very excited about themed games, while I have time to shop and relax," said Ms. Tran Lan (Thai Binh).
