On the morning of February 26 (ie, the 10th day of the first lunar month of Binh Ngo year), the atmosphere of buying and selling gold in Nghe An became bustling from early morning. On Cao Thang street and the area near Vinh market, crowds flocked to gold shops, forming long queues.
From the beginning of the morning, the number of customers at many stores increased sharply compared to normal days. Traffic on Cao Thang street moved slowly, at times with local congestion. Inside gold shops, customers waiting for transactions lined up from the cashier counter to the product display area.

Ms. Le Thi Hong (Vinh Phu ward) said that every year her family buys a tael of gold on this occasion to "get lucky". According to her, buying gold at the beginning of the year is not simply for investment purposes but a way to send faith in smooth progress, luck and peace throughout the year.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan - owner of a restaurant in Truong Vinh ward - shared that he took the opportunity to buy early but still had to wait for nearly an hour. "This year's prices have not fluctuated much compared to previous days, so I am not too worried. The important thing is still to maintain the habit of praying for good luck at the beginning of the year," he said.

According to records, in addition to traditional gold bars and plain round rings, mini gold products, gold money rings, pressed gold coins, mascot statues... are selling strongly thanks to flexible prices, suitable for many customer segments, especially young people. Some stores also prepare product sets with lucky money envelopes and eye-catching gift boxes to meet the needs of buying gifts.

A representative of a gold shop on Cao Thang street said that purchasing power increased sharply from the beginning of the week and peaked in the morning of the 10th. Businesses proactively source goods, increase personnel and organize customer streams to avoid overload.
Many customers choose to buy from 0.5 chi to 5 chi, mainly round rings and small gold bars. Notably, in the year of Binh Ngo 2026, products made in the shape of horses - the symbol of "success upon arrival" - are sold with many weights from 0.5 chi to 10 chi and receive great attention.

The price of 999.9 round gold rings at Kim Thanh Huy store is listed as buying price 17.2 million VND, selling price 17.8 million VND; 999.9 jewelry gold alone is bought for 17 million VND and sold for 17.77 million VND.

PNJ store on Quang Trung street also recorded a bustling trading atmosphere from early morning. The number of customers coming to buy gold increased sharply compared to normal days, but thanks to the organization, traffic diversion and arrangement of additional staff, trading activities took place quite orderly.

A store representative said that gold prices on the God of Wealth Day were listed stably compared to previous sessions, without sudden fluctuations. Thanks to this, customers' psychology is relatively reassured, focusing on the element of fortune and maintaining the habit of buying gold at the beginning of the year rather than worrying about short-term price risks.

For many years, the God of Wealth Day has become a "fall point" for consumption at the beginning of the year. From a market perspective, this is a significant stimulus for demand in the first quarter; for people, it is a spiritual ritual - a cost for trust, in a context where prices do not have sudden fluctuations like in previous years.
