On February 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense organized a Conference to prepare for the organization of the 3rd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition - 2026. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the conference.
The conference was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA); representatives of leaders of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense.
According to the Ministry of National Defense's Electronic Information Portal, reporting at the conference, Major General Phan Thi Hoai Van - Deputy Director of the General Department of National Defense Industry - said: The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition has gone through 2 editions (2022 and 2024) with increasingly expanding scale and improved quality.
In which, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022 and 2024 are organized in the same type of general exhibition, displaying products and models indoors combined with real products outdoors, and demonstrating weapons and technical equipment.
The Project for the 3rd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition - 2026 with the theme "Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Development" identifies the large scale, types of weapons, technical equipment for display combined with many activities such as: Product display, seminars - talks, exercises, field demonstrations, meetings - business connections...
Speaking at the conference, emphasizing the promotion of the results of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in 2022 and 2024, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang requested the General Department of National Defense Industry to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to continue reviewing the entire Project, ensuring it is appropriate, close, practical, with specific plans and timelines, meticulous for each stage.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang emphasized that the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition is not only a large-scale defense foreign affairs event, but also a milestone affirming the prestige, organizational capacity and integration stature of the Vietnam People's Army in the multilateral defense cooperation environment.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, the success of the exhibition contributes to spreading the message of a peace-loving Vietnam, ready to cooperate, transparent in defense policy, and at the same time showing the development level of the country's defense industry.
From that meaning, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang requested that the 3rd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition - 2026 should be organized with higher requirements, more professional scale and clearer depth of cooperation, commensurate with the increasingly enhanced position of the country in the international arena.
This is not only the honor of the Vietnam People's Army, but also the honor, image and national prestige. Therefore, preparation work must be carried out early, comprehensively, closely, and thoughtfully in all aspects, from content, protocol, foreign affairs, communication to logistics and technology.
In particular, ensuring absolute safety for people, vehicles, equipment and activities throughout the exhibition must be put first.
Respect in organization, professionalism in management and absolute safety in all stages of organization are direct measures of national organizational capacity; thereby continuing to affirm Vietnam as a reliable partner, a responsible member of the international community in the field of defense and security.
