On February 20, in Korea, the National Innovation Center (NIC), the Ministry of Planning and Investment in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and the Global Semi-Leading Association (SEMI) organized the "Vietnam Investment Forum" and a series of activities connecting within the framework of the SEMICON Korea 2025 Exhibition.

This is a semiconductor-themed forum for Vietnam held for the first time in Korea, in the context that the two countries have become Comprehensive Strategic Partners (2022), Vietnam is becoming an attractive destination in the semiconductor sector, especially in the fields of design, human resources and post-inspection.

Within the framework of the Vietnam Investment Forum, Ambassador Vu Ho and the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea emphasized: Vietnam and Korea have upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership since 2022, sharing many strategic benefits in geopolitics and geoeconomics.

Vietnam identifies semiconductors and artificial intelligence as two strategic industries to promote national development, and at the same time, the two countries still have much room for cooperation in the field of semiconductors, especially in designing, training human resources and production" - Ambassador Vu Ho said.

Also within the framework of the Forum, Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai - Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center, affirmed: "Vietnam has proactively built a domestic semiconductor ecosystem and created a favorable legal corridor to welcome global enterprises cooperating in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry".

Mr. Lee Dong-Chul - General Director of Hana Micron Group assessed: "Vietnam is a dynamic investment environment with strong support from the government, developed infrastructure and high-quality human resources at reasonable costs, making it an attractive destination for high-tech enterprises".

The forum not only demonstrates Vietnam's strong development in this field but also opens up attractive investment opportunities, contributing to bringing Vietnam deeper into the global semiconductor value chain.

The series of activities in SEMICON Korea 2025 is an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its potential in the semiconductor industry, affirming its commitment to developing the high-tech sector and enhancing international cooperation. With the participation of leading enterprises and research organizations, the event marked an important step forward in bringing Vietnam deeper into the global semiconductor supply chain.

2024 has marked a strong transformation of Vietnam in participating more deeply in the global semiconductor supply chain. In particular, the Government's issuance of Decree 182/2024/ND-CP dated December 31, 2024 on the establishment, management and use of the Investment Support Fund has affirmed a strong commitment to promoting high-tech enterprises, especially in the field of semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).

This is not only an important driving force to improve competitiveness but also helps Vietnam integrate more deeply into the international market.
