On 9.5.2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment coordinated to organize the conference "Promoting trade in agriculture - forestry - fishery products between Vietnam and the United States" to listen to the proposals of corporations, associations of goods, business and import and export enterprises on the ability to promote two -way trade for the NLTS industry. Among them, including raising the import turnover of the United States, showing Vietnam's goodwill in the effort to harmonize the two -way trade balance, towards the ultimate goal of maintaining the US market stability, protecting the long -term interests of Vietnam's exporting industry.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien affirmed that the United States is a market consuming large quantities of Vietnamese workers' goods, and is also a market with great potential for export of grain, meat, milk, wood, etc.
The Minister said that importing NLTs from the United States not only works in the short term (meeting the needs of domestic consumption tastes of each party, contributing to the trade balance and promoting negotiations to achieve the best results) but also in the long term. Because this is the basis and foundation for Vietnam - the United States to cooperate more closely in the field of NLTS in the direction of high technology, circulation and sustainable development.
Accordingly, to increase import-export turnover in the field of labor relations between the two countries, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that the Governments, ministries and functional branches of the two countries need to soon review and remove trade barriers. At the same time, issue strong and feasible incentive policies (such as tax policies, capital incentives, logistics support, etc.) to support businesses and create development momentum.
The Minister also requested that enterprises and business associations in the field of labor export and import and export should urgently connect with US partners to seek more import opportunities from this market.
Through the import and export of NLTS products between the two countries, it is necessary to take advantage of the need to seek cooperation with US partners in the field of building Vietnam's agriculture in a green, clean, high-value and sustainable direction, focusing on both production and consumption processing.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien also called on industry associations and enterprises to unite, accompany and promote stable and sustainable trade relations between Vietnam and the United States. At the same time, it affirmed that the Government, ministries, especially the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, are always committed to accompanying businesses in the above efforts.
First of all, it is necessary to urgently and resolutely remove technical barriers, open the door for US labor relations products, and simplify administrative procedures so that businesses and industry associations have the conditions to increase trade with this market.
