The Digital Transformation Award has been held annually since 2018, sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications, now the Ministry of Science and Technology. After 8 seasons of organization, in 2025, the Organizing Committee received more than 400 nominations. Through a serious and objective assessment process, 48 outstanding agencies, businesses, public service units and individuals were honored at this year's Awards Ceremony. The award is a worthy recognition of VietinBank's persistent journey in realizing the comprehensive digital transformation journey, while optimizing the organizational model, contributing to the development goals of the national digital economy.

VietinBank identifies digital transformation as a core task of the entire system, a strategic lever to improve competitiveness, optimize operations, enhance customer experience and create sustainable value. Over the past two years, VietinBank has built and implemented the X01 Comprehensive Digital Transformation Journey consulted by the world's leading partners, focusing on four strategic pillars: Digital - Data - Technology - People & Organization. By the third quarter of 2025, the bank has implemented nearly 100 digital transformation initiatives, 99% of payment transactions are conducted via digital channels, demonstrating a solid progress towards a comprehensive digital banking model. Outstanding digital products such as VietinBank iPay, eFast, eKYC, SXKD loan journey for technology, Online consumer loans, Online disbursement and guarantee, digiGOLD... have brought a seamless, fast, and safe experience, helping customers be proactive in all transactions.
On that journey, VietinBank promotes the modernization of technology infrastructure from Front-end to Back-end such as upgrading infrastructure and security, building a centralized data platform, deploying open architecture and flexible integrated systems, while developing modern digital applications to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. VietinBank also identified the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a breakthrough driving force to help VietinBank shape a smart, creative and efficient operating model. More than 50 initiatives applying AI and machine Learning have been put into operation, comprehensively covering the operating areas from demand prediction models, personalized product suggestions, fraud detection and early risk warnings. In particular, AI is also strongly applied internally through the VietinBank Genie virtual assistant, shortening 95% of the time to look up documents and reducing 70% of the time to make meeting minutes, contributing to optimizing productivity. Along with that, VietinBank is the first state-owned commercial bank to establish the Data & Artificial Intelligence Block with three main focuses: comprehensive data governance, building a real-time analytics platform and applying AI to turn raw data into specific business value.
VietinBank determines that technology only truly promotes its power when led by humans. Therefore, the bank focuses on building a team of "digital officers" - those who understand, trust and proactively apply technology to their daily work. To date, VietinBank has organized more than 90 training courses on new skills in the digital age such as advanced data analysis, Agile, DecSecOps, Design thinking and innovation, etc., along with more than 2.6 million online classes on digital transformation; 100% of mid-level leaders and 99.3% of staff have completed training on AI. At the same time, the Transformation Office was established to act as a focal point for coordinating and supervising all digital transformation initiatives, ensuring synchronization between goals and practical implementation, spreading a culture of innovation throughout the system, towards the goal of "Conversion is not only technology, but thinking & culture". Along with that is the operation of the Digital Factory according to the Agile method, helping to shorten the product development cycle. All have created a solid foundation for VietinBank to continue to maintain its position as a leading commercial bank, while playing a role in accompanying the country's development in the digital age.
