Mr. Gunter Lange, a German Athletics expert and senior lecturer of the World Athletics Organization, is a person with a lot of experience and contributions to the world of Athletics. He has been a senior lecturer of the World Athletics Federation since 1986 and has experience working in more than 40 countries under the German Government's Athletics Development Program, including Vietnam.
Through the German government's athletics development programs for Vietnamese sports, he worked in our country in 2006 and 2010. He contributed to helping Truong Thanh Hang win 2 silver medals at the 2010 ASIAD in the women's 800m and 1500m distances. The 2024 Paris Olympics is a major event that recognizes the recent achievements of this German expert in his position as Uganda's National Sports Advisor. "Student" Joshua Cheptegei won the men's 10,000m gold medal for Uganda. "Student" Peruth Chemutai won the women's 3,000m hurdles silver medal. Those achievements come from Karl Gunter Lange's training method.
Returning to Vietnam, starting from October 2024, expert Gunter Lange will take on the role of professional coach of the Vietnam Athletics Team and teaching and coaching for long-distance running and marathon of the Vietnam Athletics Federation. He is currently teaching a professional training course on athletics on modern training methods for the 400m, 800m and marathon distance groups in Vietnam. The training course has the participation of more than 40 students, including familiar names such as Coach Tran Van Sy, Coach Ho Thi Tu Tam, athletes Nguyen Thi Oanh, Quach Thi Lan, Quach Cong Lich...
Viettel Marathon is a prestigious international sporting event organized by the Vietnam Athletics Federation, the Cambodian Athletics Federation and the Lao Athletics Federation; co-organized and sponsored by the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group. The tournament has completed the first stage in Luang Prabang (Laos) and will start the second stage in Hanoi (Vietnam) on December 1, 2024. The finishing stage will take place in Siem Reap (Cambodia) on December 22, 2024. The Asian Athletics Association participates in supervising and supporting professional work at the tournament. It is expected that the Hanoi race will attract 10,000 athletes, including many high-performance athletes from the Athletics Federations of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia.
