On November 28, the People's Committee of Lang Son province had a working session with the delegation of Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel Group).
Accordingly, on November 8, Viettel Group signed a contract to lease the entire infrastructure of the Cargo Transit Area project in Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone (invested by Lang Son Transit Area Joint Stock Company) and used the internal name Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park.
Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park project has a scale of 143.7 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 3,300 billion VND, deployed in Phu Xa commune, Cao Loc district.
The planned functions include: inter-industry housing area, customs clearance service area, exhibition area, agricultural product trading center, warehouse area, parking lot, added logistics service area, etc.
The project aims to provide professional, comprehensive logistics services, combined with border gate infrastructure to improve import and export capacity, shorten customs clearance time and reduce customs clearance costs; anticipate national logistics planning, and contribute to making Lang Son a logistics center connecting Southeast Asia with China.
At the meeting, representatives of Viettel Group proposed that relevant agencies and Lang Son Transit Joint Stock Company remove difficulties and obstacles to ensure the project's opening scheduled for December 11. At the same time, they proposed that Viettel Group be allowed to participate in the Smart Border Gate Pilot Project in Lang Son.
Regarding the above proposal, Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Ho Tien Thieu stated that Lang Son is currently implementing the pilot project to build smart border gates and is directing relevant departments and branches to carry out specific tasks according to the roadmap.
Lang Son province always welcomes and invites businesses to participate in the project implementation. If Viettel Group wishes to participate, it will carry out procedures according to State regulations.
In addition, the provincial leaders also requested the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board to coordinate with the investor of the Cargo Transit Area Project and relevant agencies to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to complete the procedures for adjusting the project investment policy. Lang Son Transit Area Joint Stock Company urgently completes the procedures for completing the investment project phase 1 to meet the conditions for carrying out the next procedures.
In addition, complete procedures for customs authorities to recognize it as a centralized cargo inspection point.
The province also directed the People's Committee of Cao Loc district to speed up the site clearance progress of phase 2 of the Cargo Transit Area project, striving to basically complete site clearance of phase 2 by the end of June 2025.
