On September 17, at the Culture and Sports Center of Xuan Dinh ward (Hanoi), more than 2,000 elderly people gathered together in the "Launch Ceremony of Action Month for the Elderly in Hanoi City in 2026". In red and yellow star flag shirts, more than 2,000 elderly members performed a folk dance performance to the music of "Vietnamese Elderly Songs". The healthy movements and radiant smiles of the aunts and uncles created a vibrant image of a generation of elderly people living happily, healthily, actively connecting and contributing to the community. With the theme "Proactive healthy living - Radiant golden age", the performance was recognized as a Vietnam Record for the folk dance performance with the largest number of elderly participants.
The program is within the framework of the Launching Ceremony of "Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam" 2026 in Hanoi, with the theme "Community joins hands to integrate care for the elderly in the trend of population aging". Not only aiming to care for material, spiritual and health life, the program also creates conditions for the elderly to continue to promote their experience, intelligence and role in the family and community. Besides the synchronized performance, many practical activities for the elderly are implemented at the event, including donating 150 free glass replacement surgery sessions for elderly people in difficult circumstances along with cultural and artistic activities participated by members themselves.
Along with cultural and spiritual activities, health care is also a focused content at the program.
