On the afternoon of June 16, Thanh Hoa Provincial Tax Department organized a conference to propagate and disseminate tax policies for gold business activities; and at the same time support and answer difficulties for taxpayers in 2026.
The conference was attended by more than 300 businesses and gold businesses in Thanh Hoa province.
At the conference, representatives of Thanh Hoa Provincial Tax Department and functional sectors disseminated legal regulations related to gold business activities, including conditions for processing jewelry and fine art gold; business conditions for buying and selling jewelry and gold bars; new points in the gold management mechanism.
The Tax sector also pays attention to contents related to value-added tax, corporate income tax, personal income tax; regulations on invoices and documents; tax declaration dossiers, deadlines for submitting declarations and tax payments.
Gold businesses and business establishments have raised many problems related to electronic invoices generated from cash registers, payment accounts, invoices and documents, the time to determine revenue, deductible expenses when calculating corporate income tax and the obligation to use electronic invoices in the field of gold, silver, and gemstones.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy - Chief Tax Officer of Thanh Hoa province - emphasized that businesses need to comply with legal regulations, be transparent with books, documents, and invoices to avoid legal risks, and at the same time enhance prestige and brand in the market.
The Tax sector requires taxpayers to provide transaction account numbers through banks; have commitments to send to tax authorities about accuracy and honesty in declaration and compliance with tax policies and laws.
Notably, the Chief Tax Officer of Thanh Hoa province affirmed that for businesses and gold business establishments that intentionally violate, the Tax sector will resolutely apply judicial sanctions; strictly handle acts of organized tax evasion with signs of criminal law violations.
In addition, Thanh Hoa Provincial Tax Department requests tax officials to strengthen propaganda, guidance, and explanation of tax policies and laws; strictly inspect and supervise the registration and use of invoices; identify risks and deploy specialized and focused tax inspections.
Thanh Hoa Provincial Tax Department will also strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, exploit databases to detect, clarify and strictly handle violations, tax evasion, and combat state budget revenue loss, contributing to building a transparent and fair gold business environment.
