Reaching 70 countries and territories
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province, coffee is still the main export item with an output of 241,000 tons, followed by cashew nuts 46,500 tons; pepper 40,000 tons; rubber 9,200 tons; honey 5,300 tons...
To date, the locality’s processed agricultural products have reached more than 70 countries and territories around the world. It is worth noting that the province’s export products are shifting towards deep processing.
On December 16, Ea H'leo Macadamia Cooperative, Ea H'leo district (Dak Lak) held a ceremony to officially export the first batch of macadamia nuts under the brand name "Macadamia Ea H'leo" to Korea.
The 35-ton shipment has passed strict inspections on food safety, packaging and traceability. The product is expected to be available at major supermarket chains in Korea.
According to the Ea H’leo Macadamia Cooperative, the “Ea H’leo Macadamia” brand is built on three pillars: Emotion, brand and quality. The export of macadamia nuts affirms the right direction of the Cooperative, opening up great potential in the international market.
Also in December 2024, Mr. Hoang Danh Huu made his mark when exporting a 20-foot container with 18,000 packages of Miss Ede roasted ground coffee to the US market. This is a demanding market with many strict and demanding standards.
Mr. Hoang Danh Huu said that the company's coffee is processed according to a high-quality fermentation process, with a production line certified by the US FDA. The coffee ingredients come from sustainable farming areas that do not encroach on natural forests (EUDR certified).
“We have worked hard to research and perfect the process, ensuring optimal quality to meet the most stringent standards. Our partner in Illinois (USA) will distribute the products in local supermarket chains, opening up opportunities to reach consumers. Thereby, affirming the Vietnamese brand in the international market,” Mr. Huu shared.
Mr. Luu Van Khoi, Director of Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade, commented: "Miss Ede's conquest of the US market, which requires strict quality and standards, is a testament to the great efforts of the enterprise. Mr. Huu, with his dynamism and determination, has built trust with partners, bringing the Miss Ede brand to international reach."
Ensure product quality for export
Ms. Le Thi My Hanh, General Director of Banana Brothers Farm Joint Stock Company, said that the enterprise currently has more than 100 hectares of bananas grown using tissue culture technology, designed in a checkerboard pattern in M'Drak district.
In 2024, the company will export 10,000 tons of bananas to China, Mongolia, and South Korea at prices more stable than in previous years. Although many partners want to sign long-term contracts, current output is still not enough to meet demand.
In 2024, the company was honored to receive the Vietnam Golden Star Award, affirming its position in the market. In 2025, the company plans to expand its production area to meet increasing export demand.
“Sustainable export requires maintaining quality and ensuring products reach consumers in the best possible way. This helps create prestige, brand and attract large, long-term customers,” Ms. Hanh emphasized.
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province Nguyen Hoai Duong said that the agricultural sector is focusing on restructuring the agricultural sector.
Accordingly, the locality shifted from fragmented, small-scale production to reorganizing concentrated production areas towards forming cooperatives and organizing farmers' associations.
From there, there is unification and control, production support... to meet technical requirements as well as product output. Especially with the support of associated enterprises in terms of capital, consumption of products ensures stability and sustainability.
In addition to calling for investment in production, trade promotion, market expansion, and finding outlets for agricultural products are also of special interest and promoted by Dak Lak Departments and branches at all levels.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province, in the coming time, the unit will continue to proactively seek and expand export markets. In particular, the industry will make good use of mechanisms and policies, especially from free trade agreements that Vietnam has signed to boost exports.
