On the front, one of the details that can be checked is the information printed or displayed on the air filter. With the air filter sample identified as genuine in this case, the note section is displayed relatively clearly. Meanwhile, the batch air filter sample has less information, the printed text is small and simple.
Another point used by the mechanic to compare is the oil condition on the filter material. The genuine wind filter model is oil-soaked, when touched or gently applied, oil can be detected on the surface. Meanwhile, the wind tray filter model introduced in this case has a dry surface, without oil.
However, this sign needs to be compared with the correct type of air filter and manufacturer's instructions, because not all types of motorcycle air filters use oil-soaked filter materials.
On the back, users can check the finishing details. For the model identified as genuine, the car brand's logo is clearly embossed on the product. Some information related to the date of manufacture is also shown on the surface. The rivet positions have uniform and neat finishing.
Meanwhile, batch air filter samples usually have longer rivets and appear gaps. This may be a sign for users to refer to when checking processing quality, but this characteristic should not be used separately to conclude the origin of the product.
The rear grille is also a noteworthy detail. The genuine air filter model in this case has a thicker and more sturdy grille than the other model. Users can observe the uniformity of the grille, connections and overall finish.
