This is an accident that occurred on the afternoon of July 12, causing serious traffic congestion on Dai Ninh Pass. To date, video from the dashcam on the vehicle has also been publicly released by the Traffic Police, serving propaganda and raising drivers' awareness of traffic law compliance.
The accident occurred at Km40+450 National Highway 28B, passing through Ka Lon village, Phan Son commune (Lam Dong province).
According to camera images and initial verification results, the passenger car with license plate 85H-019. xx was traveling in the direction of Da Lat - Phan Thiet. When overtaking a car running in the same direction in front, the passenger car collided with a truck with license plate 72C-068. xx running in the opposite direction.
After the collision, the passenger car continued to crash into a car with license plate 51L-576. xx. This car was pushed and swerved, colliding with a truck with license plate 49C-117. xx.
Next, truck 49C-117. xx collided with a car with license plate 86A-192. xx traveling in the same direction behind, creating a chain collision that damaged 5 vehicles.
According to the Traffic Police, the initial cause was that the driver of passenger car with license plate 85H-019. xx violated the rules of overtaking, overtaking other vehicles without ensuring safety in winding roads, limited visibility, and with vehicles running in the opposite direction in front.
