In terms of structure, the wiper system includes a control switch, wiper motor, powertrain, wiper lever, wiper blade, and a glass washing system including a pump motor, tank, pipe and spray head. When the driver activates the switch, the system will control the pump motor and wiper lever to operate according to the manufacturer's program to clean the windshield.
Among the above parts, the glass washing liquid system is one of the parts that is prone to incidents. The main reason comes from many car owners using cheap glass washing liquids of unknown origin or self-mixing in incorrect proportions.
According to technicians, some poor quality solutions may contain many impurities and dirt. Initially, the water is still clear, making it very difficult to detect abnormalities. However, after a period of use, impurities will accumulate inside the pump motor and spray head, reducing water pressure or causing the spray head to be completely blocked.
Another mistake is that many drivers still continuously activate the water spray mode when they notice that water is not spraying out. In fact, if the water pipe or spray head is blocked, continuous activation when the system is blocked can cause the pumping motor to overload, heat up and reduce lifespan, even damage in some cases.
For cases where the nozzle only has sediment, the repair is relatively simple. The car owner only needs to clean or clear the nozzle to restore normal operation. However, if the pump motor is damaged, the common solution is to replace the entire motor cluster.
In addition to the pumped motor, the water pipe can also experience cracks, aging, slippage or leakage after a long period of use. These errors are usually not too complicated and can be handled by reconnecting or replacing the damaged pipe section.
Technicians recommend that car owners should choose a quality glass cleaning solution, check and clean the spray head periodically, and do not try to activate the water spray mode when detecting that the system is not working normally.
In particular, do not use tap water or tap water instead of glass cleaning water for a long time because minerals can create sediment in the spray head and motor.
These simple operations not only help extend the life of the pump motor and the entire wipers system, but also contribute to maintaining clear visibility and improving safety when driving in bad weather conditions.
