Recently, on highways passing through Lam Dong province, car tire bursts have continuously occurred, posing a risk of serious accidents.
Reality shows that many tire explosions occur when vehicles are traveling at high speed, leading to loss of control, overturning or chain collisions. The consequences are not only damaging vehicles but also affecting the safety of traffic participants on the highway.

Typically, the incident occurred on September 21, 2025 on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway section km174 through Luong Son commune, Lam Dong province. A truck with license plate 60H-190.XX was traveling on the expressway in the South - North direction.
When arriving at the above location, the truck had a tire burst, hit a hard median strip and overturned in the middle of the road. Goods were thrown out of the truck bed. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any casualties.

According to forecasts, during the 2026 Lunar New Year, the traffic volume of cars on highways will increase sharply compared to normal days. Many private cars and trucks move long distances continuously, increasing the risk of technical incidents. Including tire blowouts.
Highway traffic patrol and control team No. 6 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) said that the main cause of tire blowouts stems from tire wear, cracking, expired tires or tire pressure not meeting standards.
In addition, overloaded vehicles traveling long distances in hot weather also make tires prone to overheating and explosion. Some other cases occur due to tires hitting hard objects, potholes or metal fragments on the road surface.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phong - a tourist service car driver specializing in the Phan Thiet - Ho Chi Minh City route, said that when traveling on the highway at high speed, if the tire suddenly explodes, the driver is very likely to fall into an uncontrolled situation, leading to serious accidents if handled incorrectly.
Faced with the above reality, Highway Traffic Patrol and Control Team No. 6 recommends that drivers carefully check the tire condition before departure, especially the wear, pressure and expiration date, at professional tire service centers.
Vehicle drivers must absolutely not overload, not carry more than the prescribed number of people and strictly comply with speed regulations on the expressway.
Also according to Highway Traffic Patrol and Control Team No. 6, in case a tire explosion unfortunately occurs, drivers need to hold the steering wheel tightly, slowly release the gas, and not brake suddenly to avoid the car losing control.
At the same time, turn on the warning lights, drive the vehicle into the emergency stop lane and place a warning object behind the vehicle with a minimum distance of 150m to ensure safety for other vehicles.
Proactively checking vehicles and equipping skills to handle incidents will help each trip home during Tet to be safe and complete, contributing to limiting traffic accidents on highways.
