Participating in the art program "Forever Belief in the Party" at a time when the country is heading towards historical milestones, for Anh Tu, is this a "performance" or a sacred "mission"?
- For me, this is not simply a show. I see it as a great honor and also the contribution of an artist to the Fatherland. When standing on the stage of a political art program, especially in the context of the 14th National Congress of the Party - a very important event of the country taking place, I am very aware of my responsibility. Music at this time is not simply for performance, but a proud bridge to spread faith, gratitude and the spirit of accompanying the country in these special moments.
What were your feelings when performing the song "Thua Dang" (Dear Party) composed by yourself for the first time in such a meaningful political art program?
- That is a great pride but also accompanied by no small amount of pressure. Standing on the stage of the Ho Guom Theater, in front of special audiences, I sang with all sincerity. "Sir Party" is not just a song, it is a voice of heart, a milestone in the artistic journey that I want to dedicate to the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Party and to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party.
I chose the most sincere and closest possible way of expressing it. Instead of using grandiose words, I consider music as a confession, a thank you. I started the song from the milestone of 1930, mentioning the sacrifices of my ancestors in exchange for today's peace.
In terms of melody, I restrain myself to create depth but still rich emotions. I believe that, in any generation, patriotism and awareness of origin are always the "red thread" connecting everyone. When I sing with true faith, the audience will feel that vibrato.
Every time I stand on the stage of political art, I always remind myself that what today's young generation is gaining is the result of many sacrifices from the previous generation. Music in such spaces slows down my soul, I know how to listen more and appreciate more sustainable values.
Before "Thua Dang", he once released "Nguoi la Ho Chi Minh" or "Giua hoa binh" with singer LyLy. The fact that a young artist persistently pursues music associated with civic responsibility seems to be a reversal?
- I don't think it's a reversal, but a continuation. Each artist has their own path and I choose to use music to spread positive values. For me, living decently, healthily, complying with the law and creating products that are useful to society is the most specific way to express patriotism. Belief in the Party, in the guidance of the State needs to be proven by actions and responsibility in the daily work of each individual.
I hope that through these melodies, young people will understand more about the value of peace and the sacrifices of the previous generation. I want to affirm that young artists today are not at all indifferent to history. We always have ambitions and are ready to use our strengths to contribute to the development of the country, starting from small things like a song full of national pride.

There is an opinion that: "The career of a young artist is only truly sustainable when it is rooted in national pride". What is your opinion on this issue?
- I think each artist will have their own artistic path, no one is the same. But there is one thing in common that I believe everyone has, which is patriotism. When art is nurtured from national pride and awareness of its roots, it will have depth and longer-lasting vitality. For me, it is a solid root so that I am not distracted, so that no matter where I go, do anything, try any genre of music, I will never forget that I am Vietnamese!
In 2025, he participated in many major celebrations such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2. How do you make music a bridge to help young people naturally absorb traditional values?
- That is really what I am trying to do every day. In 2025, I am really honored to appear in many political art nights towards 2 major celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2. Materials about history, culture, and tradition are always a rich source of inspiration for me. What comes from the heart will easily reach the heart. I and many colleagues have always made unremitting efforts to prove that songs about patriotism and history can completely reach young people naturally, without dogmatism but full of vitality.
If you use music to paint a picture of the young people's belief in the country, which color tone would you choose?
- I will choose warm colors - that is pride, gratitude and hope. Besides, there are bright colors, showing the spirit of innovation, daring to dream and daring to contribute of today's young people.
Is the image of an artist with positive living ideals the best way to "ignite the fire" for the Gen Z generation?
- Certainly yes, but the important thing is how you express it. If patriotism and positive living ideals are expressed sincerely, through concrete actions and valuable works of art, then that value will constantly spread. Young people today are very sensitive, and they are still always ready to welcome and correct themselves to become good citizens for society.
What are your expectations for the development of the country's culture under the direction of the Party?
- I hope that not only the cultural industry, but the entire national cultural life will continue to be developed comprehensively, rising in both quality and quantity. Besides integration and innovation, traditional values and national identity are still preserved and promoted.
I am very happy that recently the Politburo also agreed to choose November 24th every year as a major holiday to honor Vietnamese Culture. I believe that when culture is placed in the right central position, many industries and "ecosystemes" of art will also have a solid foundation for sustainable development, creating increasingly large values and soon bringing Vietnamese cultural identity to a higher position on the global cultural map.
Through the art program "Forever Belief in the Party", what can Anh Tu share about the commitment of a young artist to maintain a "clean" image and strive to return to his roots?
- For me, the belief of a young artist must first be concretized by action: Living responsibly, complying with the law and working seriously. I always tell myself that I must create positive, healthy artistic products that absolutely do not go against the core ethical and cultural values of the nation.
Instead of making big promises, I choose to persistently pursue the goal of becoming a decent person, living usefully for society. In the role of an artist, I hope that each step of my footsteps can contribute human values to the community, contributing to preserving the cultural foundations that the previous generation painstakingly nurtured.
