Exactly 4 years ago, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy participated in the AVC Challenge Cup 2023 International Volleyball Tournament (the predecessor of the AVC Cup) held in Indonesia for the first time.

At that time, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was not highly rated for their ability to win the number one position. However, Thanh Thuy's brilliant form was the strength for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to win and be crowned champion. At the tournament, the organizers awarded the title "Comprehensive excellent player" to Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.

At the AVC Challenge Cup 2024, Thanh Thuy continued to participate but was not in the best physical condition due to injury. However, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team successfully defended the championship.

Last year, Thanh Thuy returned with brilliant form and was an important spearhead with her teammates to lead the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to win the AVC Nations Cup 2025, held in Dong Anh (Hanoi). This year, Thanh Thuy did not hesitate to say that she herself will be determined and strive to achieve the best results with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the AVC Cup 2026.

If you look closely at expertise, main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is regularly present in the main squad of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in this tournament, from 2023 to now. If given this opportunity, main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy will be one of the few female volleyball players in the country's history to have participated in the Asian Games 3 consecutive times. She was a member participating in ASIAD 18 in 2018, ASIAD 19 in 2023.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is assessed to be gradually narrowing the level gap with major teams in the continent. With sports events like ASIAD, each athlete always cherishes the opportunity to participate.

Professionally mature through many tournaments from domestic to international, Thanh Thuy maintains the most core thing of a player with high professional level, which is professionalism. Therefore, she has maintained her key role on the field and together with her teammates brought the best results for the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team in recent years.

When she first participated in ASIAD in 2018, Thanh Thuy was 21 years old. That was the period when she began to accumulate expertise, build a technical and physical foundation for herself to be able to develop along with the length of her future. By ASIAD 19 taking place in 2023, Thanh Thuy entered the age of 26. This is the best stage of professional development for her. At ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team made history with the 4th place overall. Thanh Thuy's contribution to the above results is not small.

With players with good expertise and international competition experience like Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, we are very confident that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will do a good job at ASIAD 20. However, this is a tournament with top continental teams participating, so our preparation will be very thorough," Vice President cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - Mr. Le Tri Truong expressed when talking about Thanh Thuy.
