Currently, what has changed in your life compared to the early years of your career? Are you spending the most time on work or family?
- It can be said that this is the period when I feel happiest. This year is also 25 years in the profession, so I am more mature, have more experience and especially have my own students.
Compared to before, my life is much more balanced. When I first entered the profession, I almost only focused on work. At that time, I was young and newly married, so I always wanted to devote all my time and energy to assert myself.
But now, after 25 years in the profession, my children have grown up, I can arrange everything more smoothly between work and family. That is what makes me feel satisfied.
Few people know that you started your career as an actor. What fate brought you to the acting profession?
- I came to art from a passion for acting. Previously, I was a stage and film actor, participating in many main roles in stage drama as well as some films loved by audiences.
Actually, I never thought I would be attached to television for so long. Perhaps I am one of the actors who switched to television and has been attached to this job for the longest time.
Looking back, it was a fateful turning point. I started as an actress but then switched to television and have been attached to it until today.
So with your work at Vietnam Television, where did this predestined relationship come from?
- At that time, I read information about recruiting editors and program hosts for the Vietnam Television Station's resident office in Ho Chi Minh City in a newspaper. I decided to try my hand. When competing, there were many familiar faces such as Ms. Hoai Anh, Ms. Thuy Hang. Unexpectedly, that attempt became a major turning point in my life.
To date, I have worked in the television environment for 25 years. I think it is both an opportunity and a predestined fate that I cannot predict.
From an actor to a job as an editor and news presenter, how did you have to change yourself?
- Actors are the job of delving into the character's personality, researching the role, learning dialogue and living with the character. Meanwhile, news editors are a completely different job, very scientific, requiring accuracy and meticulousness in every detail.
The time working as an editor and news presenter at VTV9 for 17 years has helped me learn a lot. Each news report must be thoroughly checked and carefully prepared. The pressure is very high but it is also a great training environment.
Thanks to that, later when switching to entertainment programs or talk shows, I feel much more confident.
Audiences are now very familiar with his image in many entertainment programs. What is the biggest difference between presenting news and entertainment?
- These two fields are completely different. News hosting requires accuracy, tightness and seriousness. Meanwhile, entertainment hosting needs closeness, softness and the ability to connect emotions with the audience.
However, in both roles, I try to bring the most natural feeling. I don't like to strain myself to become an entertainment MC or a standard news presenter.
I always ask the question: If I were an audience member, would I want to hear this? If the answer is yes, I will convey it in the most truthful way.
Looking back at the journey from actor, news editor to MC loved by a large audience today, what do you feel most grateful for and what do you want for the upcoming journey?
- I think I am a very lucky person. From a guy passionate about acting, I did not expect to one day become a television journalist, then an MC loved by the audience for the past 25 years.
I am grateful to my family, teachers, colleagues, leaders and all those who have accompanied me on that journey.
In the coming time, I still want to continue to contribute to television, and at the same time find opportunities to return to acting - the starting point for my passion. I believe that when working with all seriousness and love for the profession, good things will continue to come.

In this day and age, anyone can post information on social networks. But becoming a reliable source of information is a completely different story. Therefore, I cherish genuine journalists and hope young people who want to follow the profession will take this job seriously, meticulously and responsibly.
The biggest thing I learned in the work of an editor is discipline, accuracy and responsibility. Doing current affairs does not allow me to be subjective. Just a small mistake can affect the information transmitted to millions of viewers.
In addition, the job also helps me broaden my understanding in many different fields. Thanks to that, later when hosting diverse programs, I have a fairly good knowledge base to approach issues.
