Overcoming distance, building a home together
The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue (Ho Chi Minh City), a full-time trade union official, is one of the typical families overcoming difficulties, commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for 95 typical families of workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide. Her husband, Mr. Tran Dinh Tham, is an official of DK1 rig in Naval Region 2, regularly performing long-term duties in the sea and islands. Due to the nature of her husband's work, Ms. Hue almost single-handedly takes on family matters, takes care of children and completes tasks at the agency.
Despite facing many difficulties whenever her husband is away from work, Ms. Hue still always strives to balance work and life, successfully completing the tasks of a trade union official, and at the same time raising her children to achieve many achievements in their studies. She said that it is the empathy and concern of leaders and the Trade Union organization along with responsibility for work that has added motivation for her to overcome challenges in life.
At the forefront of the storm, Mr. Tran Dinh Tham always cherishes his wife's silent sacrifices. He emotionally shared: "DuRING the time working away from home, my wife at home took care of everything from family to office work. I thank my wife for taking care of and preserving the family for me to be assured in performing my duties.
Not only Ms. Hue's family, many other families are also writing beautiful stories about understanding and companionship in life. Ms. Le Thi Diem Diem's family - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Right Rich International Co., Ltd. (Lam Dong province), and her husband, Major Nguyen Thanh Truc - Regiment 920, Air Defense - Air Force Service, are an example.
Every day, Ms. Diem comes to work at the company with a distance of more than 40km, and in the evening takes care of her young child. According to Ms. Diem Diem, understanding and sharing have helped the couple overcome the distances caused by the nature of their work.
Sharing about the value of a family home, Mr. Truc said that family is always a solid support, a solid rear for him to feel secure in performing his duties. Every time he returns to his loved ones, it is a source of motivation for him to continue striving and successfully complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State and Army.
Meanwhile, the family of Mr. Pham Quang Anh, working at the Flight Attendant Team of Vietnam Airlines Corporation, brings a beautiful story about love for the profession and strong attachment. He and she were classmates from school days, together nurturing the dream of becoming flight attendants. Luck smiled when both joined Vietnam Airlines Corporation and have been attached to the profession for the past 25 years.
With unremitting efforts in work, building a happy home and the companionship of the Trade Union organization, Mr. Quang Anh's family was quite surprised to be honored as a typical family nationwide. For them, this is a great honor and pride after many years of striving.
Typical examples of learning, dedication and overcoming difficulties
Besides typical military families and trade union members, many families are recognized for their outstanding achievements in study, scientific research and creative labor.
The family of Mr. Do Duc Van and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (Hai Phong City) is one of such typical examples. Their child won the Third Prize in the National Excellent Student Competition in Mathematics, participated in the "Road to Olympia Peak" program and is currently an excellent student of Hanoi National University of Education.
In Hanoi, the family of Dr. Vu Dinh Thep and Dr. Tran Thi Chu Quy is known as a typical multi-generational family. Their children won Gold Medals at the International Science and Engineering Competition held in France, received 100% scholarships from VinUni University and were admitted to many prestigious universities.
Another story full of energy comes from the family of Mr. Deo Duc Luc, Master - Doctor working at Son La Provincial General Hospital. His family of 3 generations lives under one roof. In 2021, when he was sent by the agency to study to improve his professional qualifications, his family continuously encountered many upheavals. However, the members always unite and encourage each other to overcome difficulties.
Mr. Luc shared: "In difficult periods of life, our family always receives timely care, encouragement and support from the Trade Union organization. In particular, the Son La Provincial Labor Federation and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have always accompanied, shared, and helped us have more strength to overcome challenges.
In addition to the families mentioned above, there are many other typical family groups honored such as families of many generations living together, families with many initiatives and innovations in labor production, or families of grassroots trade union officials who have made many contributions to trade union activities.

Through the selected dossiers, the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and building happy families of workers, civil servants, and laborers continues to be affirmed. The commended families are all typical examples in labor, work, and study; making many contributions to agencies, units and the community; and at the same time spreading the good values of Vietnamese families, contributing to building prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized families in the new period.
