Vietnam is being considered one of Moscow's (Russian Federation) most important long-term markets in Asia. In 2025, the city welcomed 42,200 visitors from Vietnam, an increase of 17% compared to 2024, contributing to the stable growth momentum of the Asia-Pacific region.

From the above results, how do you assess Vietnam's position in Moscow's long-term tourism strategy?
- We see great potential in both resort and office tourism segments. Vietnamese tourists today are not only interested in traditional sightseeing activities but are increasingly excited about cultural tourism, resort combination, educational tourism and inter-Russian routes.
To effectively exploit this potential, our top priority is to improve access to destinations through digital tools, promotional activities, direct dialogue in the industry and extensive cultural cooperation.
What are the outstanding travel trends of Vietnamese tourists when visiting Moscow, Madam?
- With the Millennials and Gen Z generations, we see an increasing interest in the trend of self-sufficient, flexible and visually rich travel. Among them, the Millennials group from 26 to 45 years old often travel in pairs or small families, emphasizing convenience, local cuisine and well-prepared urban exploration journeys. Conversely, young Gen Z people from 18 to 25 years old tend to travel alone or in groups, prioritizing cost-optimized choices and choosing destinations based on popular culture and social media trends.
For both generations, Moscow not only possesses ancient scenic spots but also a modern urban space full of life: From historic streets, riverside promenades, museums, parks to creative complexes, cafes and contemporary cultural spaces. Because the younger generation depends heavily on vlogs, travel websites, social networks and search engines, reputable digital content in Vietnamese plays a more important role than ever.
What utilities does the "Discover Moscow" Vietnamese version platform that has just officially launched bring and how does it help tourists explore a Moscow?
- The launch of the Vietnamese-language website "Discover Moscow" is an important step forward to help self-sufficient tourists easily explore the city. Playing the role of a digital travel assistant, the platform provides official information sources in its mother tongue from before and throughout the journey, removing language barriers for tourists to proactively look up pre-designed routes, seasonal destinations, events, restaurants and suitable shopping areas. This is an extremely useful tool for Millennials and Gen Z, who always want to build their own personal schedules instead of being constrained in group tours.
In addition to digital platforms, language support at destinations is also highly valued. The tour guide team in Moscow can currently guide tours in more than 20 different languages, including Vietnamese. This helps tourists to flexibly choose between self-exploring or accompanying tour guides to learn more about local culture and history.
How do you assess the role of the city's large-scale festivals in attracting international tourists?
- For young tourists, the attraction of Moscow comes from the way culture naturally creeps into every street corner, park and creative space. The "Summer in Moscow" project gathers more than 500 locations, organizes 122,000 cultural, sports, and entertainment events and has attracted 64 million visitors in the past summer. This model does not require rigid schedules, allowing tourists to freely move between outdoor concerts, food markets or street art spaces to feel the daily rhythm of the city.
In addition, the trend of film-based tourism has also developed strongly thanks to Moskino Cinema Park, 519ha wide with 36 role-playing locations, or the Red October complex renovated from an old chocolate factory into a trendy art and entertainment space. Along with Zaryadye Park, VDNKh complex and the Museum of Cosmology, these destinations have depicted a modern, artistic and eye-catching Moscow.
At the same time, Moscow also affirmed its position as a center for international cultural exchange events. The clearest proof is the Vietnam Culture Festival taking place in the summer of 2025 right at Manezhnaya Square. Marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam, the festival has become an important milestone in bilateral relations. The event attracted special attention from the public, especially young people with 968,000 visitors and more than 100 rich activities, from traditional art performances, martial arts, handicraft workshops to culinary exhibitions.
What practical cooperation activities are being implemented and what are Moscow's priorities in the coming time, Madam?
- We always maintain active professional dialogue with the Vietnamese tourism industry. After trade promotion programs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in the two years 2024 - 2025, in May 2025, we welcomed a survey team of 6 leading Vietnamese travel businesses to experience reality and connect with more than 40 local partners.
On that basis, we will continue to strengthen cooperation according to 3 main orientations: Improving access to destinations, expanding digital services and deepening cultural exchange activities connecting the two countries. We not only see Vietnam as a potential market, but also as a partner with a deep cultural and historical connection with Russia. This is the solid foundation that creates substantial value and strong growth potential for this long-term cooperation relationship.
