The Bac Giang City Labor Federation has just organized the program "Tet not far from home" for workers staying in Song Khe, Noi Hoang, and Tien Phong wards.

Attending the program were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Thanh Hai, leaders of the City Labor Federation, leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Song Khe, Noi Hoang, Tien Phong wards, landlords and workers at the boarding houses.

At the locations of the program "Tet not far from home", Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Thanh Hai informed about the socio-economic development, national security and defense of the city, and also pointed out the importance of implementing the Project "Safe and civilized workers' dormitories" and requested that dormitory owners do a good job of security, order, fire prevention, improve the quality of dormitories, implement rules, regulations, and criteria for building safe and civilized dormitories, and care for workers who live far away and do not return home for Tet.

The Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee requested that workers staying at boarding houses unite to strictly follow the regulations on hours and activities at boarding houses, actively participate in activities of enterprises as well as in the localities where they reside, and requested that leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committees of wards with boarding houses continue to coordinate with city agencies and units to promptly grasp the security and political situation at boarding houses through residential groups and self-managed inter-family groups, coordinate propaganda for workers staying at boarding houses to participate in propaganda campaigns and participate in Green Sundays at the grassroots level.

At the program's locations, city leaders presented gifts and banh chung to workers who were staying in rented houses and could not return home for Tet, with a total amount of over 20 million VND.

This activity demonstrates the concern of the Party Committee and the city government in implementing the Project "Safe and civilized workers' dormitory" in which the trade union organization plays the core role, contributing to stabilizing the security and political situation in the area and the socio-economic development task of Bac Giang province.
