Stick with the company thanks to the friendly working environment
Mr. Huynh Van Choi - Executive Director, Chairman of the Trade Union of Viet Hung Joint Stock Company (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) - said that for many years, the company has had very few changes in personnel after Tet. According to Mr. Choi, only a very small number of employees out of the company's total of more than 530 employees quit their jobs after Tet.
Explaining the reason why employees stick with the company, Mr. Choi said that the most important thing is to ensure jobs, income, benefits and create a good, friendly working environment so that employees can feel secure and have stable jobs.
“For garment enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, employees have an average salary of 9.3 million VND/month and an average income of 11.5 million VND/month, which is quite good. The company also has other benefits such as paying an average 13th month salary of 16 million VND/person, sponsoring annual travel for employees, organizing a zero-dong market, and a year-end party for employees at the end of the year.
The union also supports employees in difficult circumstances and those with serious illnesses with a level of 1-3 million VND/person. These actions will help employees feel secure in their work and attached to the company," said Mr. Choi.
Agreeing with this view, Ms. Le Thi Thuy - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Ha Giang Garment and Embroidery Company (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) - also said that for many years, the company has almost stabilized its personnel after Tet. According to Ms. Thuy, most of the company's employees have been with the business for many years, including many employees over 50 years old.
Ms. Le Thi My Linh - a garment worker at Ha Giang Embroidery Garment Company - said that the company has many policies to care for its employees, such as supporting single mothers with free accommodation and allowing workers to send their children to the company's nursery for free. The company also has a policy of lending workers money without interest if they have urgent needs to solve family matters.
“Although the company's salary is not high compared to the general level of the garment industry, the company's care and attention helps us stay with the business,” said Ms. Linh.
Pay 150% salary to encourage workers to return to work soon
Mr. Tran Nhu Can - Chairman of the Trade Union of Phong Phu International Joint Stock Company (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) - said that in the period of 2021 - 2023, after Tet, the company's human resources also fluctuated from 7% - 10%. According to Mr. Can, during that period, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, businesses had difficulty with orders, many workers also considered returning to their hometowns to work to have a more stable life.
In 2024, the company will have more orders, more jobs for employees, the average salary will be nearly 11 million VND/month and the average income will be about 13 million VND/month, employees will be very excited, and will be more attached to the company.
“In reality, many businesses are sending their employees home for Tet and organizing a welcome back after Tet. However, if jobs, salaries, and incomes are not stable, there will certainly be fluctuations in personnel after Tet,” Mr. Can commented.
Ms. Pham Hong Ha - Chairwoman of the Saigon Food Company's Trade Union (Vinh Loc Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City) - said that during the Lunar New Year 2025, the company spent 32 billion VND to take care of Tet for 1,900 employees and organized buses to take workers home to celebrate Tet and reunite with their families. The trade union and the company also coordinated to give gifts to union members and employees with a total amount of nearly 600 million VND.
“In particular, after Tet, the company’s leaders also went to some areas with many workers to celebrate Tet with the workers’ families. After that, the company organized to welcome the workers back to work on company-rented buses. During the first working week after Tet, the company will pay the workers 150% of their salary to encourage them to return to work quickly,” said Ms. Ha.
