On the morning of July 14, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized the third Conference of the Executive Committee (expanded) of the City LĐLĐ term I; Preliminary review of the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLĐ) and Trade Union activities in the first 6 months of 2026; Deploying key tasks from now until the end of 2026.
According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, the Decision adjusted the names of 7 grassroots trade unions. Dissolved 16 grassroots trade unions. Newly established 11 grassroots trade unions and established 4 grassroots trade unions on the basis of dissolution, merger, and consolidation of 19 grassroots trade unions.

Developing 13,513 union members, reducing 8,670 union members, and actually increasing 4,843 union members. Up to now, the City Labor Federation is managing 847 grassroots trade unions, 144,005 union members/169,963 workers.
The last 6 months of the year are the decisive stage for completing the targets and tasks for 2026, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - proposed to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party's guidelines, the leadership and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Can Tho City Party Committee. Concrete it into an action program with the motto of clear people, clear tasks, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear results.
Chairman of Can Tho City Labor Federation clearly stated that each member of the Executive Committee, each trade union official needs to strongly change their working methods in the direction of taking the grassroots level as the operating area, taking union members and workers as the center of service.
We must shift from management thinking to companionship, support and service thinking; taking the effectiveness of operations at the grassroots level and the satisfaction of union members and workers (ĐV,NLĐ) as a measure of the quality of the Trade Union organization," Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai emphasized.
In particular, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions must be identified as a key political task, a responsibility of the entire system and an target that must be resolutely completed in 2026.
According to the Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, not waiting, not avoiding, not letting targets delay progress; the results of union member development will be one of the important criteria to assess the level of task completion of the collective and the responsibility of the head.
Along with that, the Standing Committee will continue to review and comprehensively evaluate the current Trade Union organization model; proactively prepare the necessary conditions to gradually implement the model of inter-commune, ward and industrial park trade unions according to the policy of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
