On February 20, the Emulation Cluster of Districts under the Can Tho City Labor Federation (Emulation Cluster No. 1) announced that it had just held a Conference to summarize Trade Union activities in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.
In 2024, with proactiveness, flexibility and high determination, the proposed programs and plans were all implemented and implemented effectively. The basic targets are achieved and exceeded; Trade Union activities are innovative, focusing on caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, the units have practically cared for the material and spiritual lives of union members and employees in difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, and serious illnesses with 2,293 people receiving gifts, a total amount of over 1.5 billion VND. Trade unions at all levels coordinated with professionals and business leaders to organize activities to care for 27,586 members and employees with a total amount of over 10 billion VND.
During Workers' Month associated with the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, units in the cluster had many practical activities such as the Forum "Workers for Enterprises, Enterprises for Workers"; activities to thank employees; shift meals; Conference to listen to employees' opinions, etc.
The cluster also directed its affiliated grassroots unions to organize a Union Meal to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, with 8,123 union members and workers participating, with an amount of nearly 472 million VND.
In the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers", 2,465 initiatives were recognized at all levels; 8 proposals for creative workers were completed; 6 city-level and 256 district-level models were implemented.
Mobilized contributions to the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund of Can Tho Trade Union of nearly 1.25 billion VND. From the fund, support 13 Trade Union Shelters; awarded 305 scholarships to children of union members in difficult circumstances; visited and presented gifts to 375 union members and employees with illnesses in difficult circumstances...
The work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, and building a strong union organization has been focused on and considered a top priority task. Up to now, the cluster has developed an increase of nearly 4,000 union members; established 39 grassroots unions; introduced 639 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission.
In 2025, with the theme "Focusing on developing union members; participating in building a clean and strong Party", the cluster will perform well its function of representation, protecting legitimate and legal rights as well as actively caring for union members and workers. Units will focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; increasing participation in building a clean and strong Party and government; competing to achieve achievements to celebrate major holidays, anniversaries of the Party, the country and Party congresses at all levels.
