On December 16, the Vinh Thanh District Labor Federation held a ceremony to present the Union Shelter to 3 union members with difficult housing circumstances in the district. In attendance was the President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, Le Thi Suong Mai.
The Trade Union Shelter Program demonstrates the practical care and concern of Trade Unions at all levels for Trade Union members with difficult housing circumstances, helping them stabilize their lives and focus on economic development, contributing to creating trust and attachment of members to the Trade Union organization.
The families of the union members who were awarded the Trade Union Shelter all have young children, a personal income of just over 7 million VND/month, and have to stay in a dilapidated relative's house to take care of their elderly parents.
Each situation was supported with 50 million VND, along with the money that the family had saved and borrowed, after 3 months of construction, the houses were built spacious and cozy, especially meaningful when the Lunar New Year 2025 is approaching.
On this occasion, Vinh Thanh District Labor Federation also started construction of another union shelter for union members in difficult circumstances in Qui Long hamlet, Thanh My commune.
Since the beginning of the year, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund Branch in Can Tho has donated 43 Trade Union Shelters to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
