Strong trust in the trade union organization
After merging with Phu Yen province, Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor currently has 676 grassroots unions with 57,914 union members.
Following the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Dak Lak province plans to establish 11 commune and ward trade unions. In the immediate future, the Provincial Federation of Labor has announced the establishment of the Tan An Ward, Buon Ma Thuot Ward and Hoa Phu Commune Trade Union.
The newly established commune and ward trade unions currently have Hoa Phu Industrial Park and Tan An Industrial Cluster, with more than 7,000 workers working there.
Ms. Ksor H' Vo - a worker at Tan An Industrial Cluster - shared: "After nearly 3 years working here, I have received a lot of support from the grassroots union and the Buon Ma Thuot City Labor Federation (formerly). Every holiday, Tet or Workers' Month, workers in difficult circumstances receive gifts".
Mr. Nguyen Van Quyen - Chairman of the Trade Union of KVD Vina Co., Ltd. (Tan An Industrial Cluster) - said that the company currently has about 1,400 workers. Since the beginning of 2025, the union has implemented many activities to care for union members and workers, especially during the Lunar New Year and Workers' Month.
"In the context of the trade union organization reorganizing and streamlining the apparatus, we are still closely monitoring the situation, ensuring that activities to care for the rights of workers are not interrupted. The grassroots level can be flexible in implementing activities, meeting practical needs well" - Mr. Quyen emphasized.
According to Mr. Quyen, the majority of union members and workers at the company are ethnic minorities. Most of them believe that, after the restructuring of the apparatus, the local trade union organization will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, affirming its important role in representing and protecting workers in the current context.
Meeting job requirements in the new phase
Sharing about the initial steps, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Hoa Phu Commune Trade Union - said: "Immediately after the establishment of the Commune Trade Union, we urgently developed regulations, work plans and assigned specific tasks to each cadre".
However, Mr. Tuan also admitted that the challenge for newly established commune and ward unions is not small. The workload is large, while the number of subjects that need to be cared for and their legitimate rights and interests are increasing, especially disadvantaged workers. Developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in enterprises are also facing many difficulties.
"In the immediate future, we will closely monitor the grassroots, focus on reviewing and making a list of workers who are ethnic minorities with difficult circumstances working in Hoa Phu Industrial Park. At the same time, the commune union will continue to innovate its methods of operation, improve the quality of the staff to effectively implement welfare programs, and comprehensively care for union members and workers" - Mr. Tuan emphasized.
From the perspective of general management, Mr. Le Van Thanh - Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor - affirmed: "One of the key tasks at present is to innovate activities and improve the quality of the trade union staff. Each cadre needs to be clearly aware of their responsibilities and roles to continuously learn, practice, and meet the requirements of the job in the new period.
According to Mr. Thanh, the road ahead for trade union organizations at all levels in the province still has many difficulties and challenges. However, with the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the support of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the spirit of solidarity and determination, the workers' movement and trade union activities will soon stabilize and develop.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to closely monitor the activities of commune, ward and grassroots trade unions. Thereby, promptly removing arising difficulties and obstacles to better implement the work of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers" - Mr. Thanh emphasized.
