Bringing activities into digital space
In Dong Thap province, from the beginning of the year to now, trade union levels have organized more than 9,000 propaganda sessions, attracting over 950,000 participants; posted and shared nearly 12,000 news, articles, and propaganda products on digital platforms. Units use electronic handbooks, infographics,... as well as organize online contests, helping inherently dry content become more accessible.
Typically, the "Audio News Bulletin of Dong Thap Trade Union" model has applied technology to convert text into voice using AI to create audio news bulletins, combine background music, images and subtitles.
News bulletins are broadcast through loudspeakers at enterprises, factories, collective kitchens, workers' boarding houses; shared in Zalo groups of self-managed workers' groups, grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) and on trade union information channels.
With this approach, workers have received information right in the working and living environment without necessarily having to participate in a focused propaganda session.
The effectiveness of the digital method is also clearly shown through the online contest to learn about the Party Congress Resolution, the Trade Union Congress Resolution and the 97th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union organized by the Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ).

In just 3 weeks, the contest attracted 364 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS), with 24,420 registrations and 33,940 entries. The organizing committee awarded 9 individual prizes per week, 18 individual prizes and 1 collective prize overall, with a total prize money of 14 million VND.
A noteworthy point is that union members do not have to gather at one location. With only personal devices connected to the internet, workers can actively participate at the appropriate time.
Serving union members better
At the grassroots level, the Cao Lanh Ward Trade Union launched the model "Each union member - A digital skill" with 150 union members participating. The content focuses on skills that can be applied immediately in work, study, labor, production, business and life.
Union members are instructed on how to use ChatGPT, build commands, apply AI in document drafting, learning and processing work. Along with tool use skills, the program focuses on raising awareness about protecting personal information and responsible AI use.

Meanwhile, at Trung An Ward Trade Union, the model "Digital Trade Union - Connecting Union Members" is being implemented with 27 members who are Chairmen of grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions, aiming to strengthen the application of technology in information exchange, connection and grasp of the situation of union members and workers.
Currently, Dong Thap province has 796 grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions with more than 270,000 union members. The large number of union members, working in many industries, businesses and different areas, has raised increasingly high requirements for connectivity, information provision and service.

In that context, digital transformation opens up many possibilities for Trade Union activities. More importantly, digital platforms have created more channels for the Dong Thap Trade Union to listen to and grasp the thoughts, aspirations and issues arising in the lives and jobs of union members.
