Gia Lai Trade Union affirms its role, exceeding the set plan

Gia Lai – Trade unions at all levels have encouraged and given gifts to thousands of union members and workers, helping them overcome difficulties to improve their lives.

On December 20, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor held the 5th Executive Committee Conference, term XI (term 2023-2028), to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.

In 2024, Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation made efforts to complete and exceed many targets and plans set by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Of which, 244 grassroots unions coordinated with employers to organize the "Union Meal" program for 7,494 union members and workers, with a total cost of more than 816 million VND.

Trade unions at all levels visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 135 union members and workers facing difficulties, having work-related accidents or occupational diseases, with a total support amount of 37.2 million VND.

In 2024, trade unions at all levels in Gia Lai supported 27 enterprises and units to negotiate and sign new collective labor agreements, reaching 540% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The rate of enterprises and units with trade unions signing collective labor agreements in the province reached 81.5%, equivalent to 247 out of a total of 303 enterprises and units.

Currently, Gia Lai province has 81 units and enterprises implementing a shift meal regime for employees at a rate of 18,000 VND or more per meal.

The Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Labor Relations Department of the General Confederation of Labor to organize a training course on environmental protection and occupational safety and hygiene for 120 union officials and officers in charge. Unions at all levels also participated in the investigation of 8 occupational accidents that occurred in the area.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024, trade unions at all levels proactively mobilized financial resources and socialized funds to visit, give gifts, and support 46,524 union members and workers, with a total amount of VND 21,507 billion.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phong, emphasized that in launching the patriotic emulation movement in 2025, trade unions at all levels, union members, civil servants, public employees and workers need to closely follow the theme "Determination to innovate, actively create, improve labor productivity, save and fight waste".

Trade unions at all levels are encouraged to promote the emulation movement of “Good workers, creative workers”, focusing on caring for the rights and improving the material and spiritual life of workers. At the same time, trade unions at all levels need to actively participate in building legal policies.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phong also affirmed: "Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union will continue to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions, and affirm the role of trade unions in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.

The union will also focus on improving the quality of union officials, especially grassroots union chairmen at non-state enterprises, to meet the requirements of the new situation."
