In 2024, with the theme "Focusing on bringing the resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels into life; competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union", Vinh City Labor Federation has closely followed the direction of the City Party Committee and the Provincial Labor Federation and concretized it into a work program for implementation.
The Vinh City Labor Federation has completed and exceeded 12/14 assigned targets, including mobilizing the establishment of 29 grassroots unions and admitting 619 new union members; inspecting and supervising finances at 6 grassroots unions outside the State sector; introducing 296 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission...
During the year, the Vinh City Labor Federation continued to do a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers. During the Lunar New Year, the city's labor unions at all levels presented 3,612 gifts to union members and workers with a total value of VND 1,381,940,000.
In the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Chia Chia" in 2024 at the branch of Emtech Nghe An Company Limited, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 47 gifts worth 23.5 million VND to workers in difficult circumstances; coordinated with the City Fatherland Front Committee to present 112 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year with a total value of 112 million VND.
The series of activities for Workers' Month 2024 took place enthusiastically with activities such as: Organizing the launching ceremony and activities of "Workers' Month - Occupational Safety and Health Month"; Coordinating with grassroots trade unions of the City General Hospital, the City People's Court, the City People's Procuracy, Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, Hung Dung Secondary School to present 50 gifts; Commending 57 typical individuals of "Vinh City Workers Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" in the period of 2019 - 2023.
Besides, a series of activities to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union also took place prominently with many creative and meaningful activities in all levels of the city's trade unions.
At the conference, delegates presented their experiences in trade union activities at the grassroots level as well as shared current difficulties in trade union activities.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi - Vice President of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation - acknowledged and highly appreciated the methodical and exciting activities organized by Vinh City Labor Federation.
In addition to the achieved results, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation requested the City Labor Federation to continue to strengthen leadership and direction, and improve the quality of activities at grassroots unions.
In the coming time, the City Labor Federation needs to strengthen its grasp of public opinion among union members and workers about the merger of agencies and units of Nghi Loc district and Cua Lo town into Vinh city.
After the merger, Vinh City Labor Federation will become the unit with the largest number of grassroots unions and union members in the province. Therefore, the City Labor Federation needs to be determined to fulfill assigned tasks and targets, striving to become the leading union in the activities of the Provincial Labor Federation.
On this occasion, 01 collective was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 04 collectives and 12 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 07 collectives and 16 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Confederation of Labor.
