Bringing green Chung cakes and Tet jams to the poor

Gia Lai - Green Chung cakes, Tet jams... from the grassroots trade union will be given to poor workers who are sick or have work-related accidents...

On January 19, the Pleiku City Labor Federation announced that the unit had just organized the contest "Pleiku City workers and laborers with traditional cakes and jams".

The competition had the participation of more than 40 members of 8 teams, representing the grassroots Trade Union of the business sector under the Pleiku City Labor Federation.

At the contest, union members and workers demonstrated their dexterity and sophistication in making traditional green Chung cakes, Tet jams, and Thuan cakes.

The members also spent time decorating and shaping the products to make them more impressive.

Mr. Do Xuan Quy - Chairman of the Pleiku City Labor Federation - said: "The contest creates a joyful and warm atmosphere in the spiritual life of union members and workers. Thereby, preserving the good traditional culture of the nation every time Tet comes and Spring comes."

Packages of Tet jam, banh chung, coconut candy, etc. will be given by the Pleiku City Labor Federation to workers in the area who are in difficult circumstances, have accidents, occupational diseases and are not eligible to return home for Tet.

The gift is small but shows the care and concern of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
