On January 18, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor organized a thematic activity "The Party with workers, workers with the Party" at Huong Tra Kindergarten, Bau Can Commune, Chu Prong District, to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025).
Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Hoang Phong said: “Bau Can tea plantation is a historical place where revolutionary seeds were sown. On October 28, 1945, at Bau Can plantation, the National Salvation Workers organization, the predecessor of the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor, was officially established.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phong, thematic activities at this historical place help Party members and Party cells understand more deeply the history, glorious traditions and mission of the trade union organization and the working class.
From there, the provincial trade union strives and makes efforts to successfully implement the targets and tasks set out in the new year 2025, continuing to represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
In 1945, when the National Salvation Workers' Organization was established, it marked the maturity of the labor force and the Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union. From then on, Gia Lai workers and laborers had a large organization throughout the province to gather, mobilize, and fight against oppression and exploitation, demanding their rights.
On February 28, 2007, Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee issued Notice No. 237-TB/TU on choosing October 28, 1945 as the founding date of the provincial trade union organization.
For nearly 80 years, under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the quality of union members, workers and civil servants has been increasingly improved.
Trade union activities at all levels are increasingly developing extensively. Trade union organizations are significant to the development of the province in all fields, contributing to the development of the country.
In 2024, the whole province will develop 2,117 union members, reaching 105.85% of the plan assigned by the General Confederation of Labor; newly establish 44 grassroots unions and grassroots trade unions.
The total number of outstanding union members recommended for the Party to consider and admit is 1,986, reaching 118% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Of these, 934 union members were admitted to the Party.
