On August 22, at the Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation Sports and Gymnastics Center, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the opening ceremony of the XXIII Lai Chau Provincial Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers Badminton Tournament in 2026 - Three-Star Cup.
The tournament takes place in 2 days, August 22-23, attracting 23 delegations with nearly 150 athletes from grassroots trade unions, departments, agencies, branches, unions, communes, wards and armed forces in the province.
Athletes compete in many events for leaders; cadres, civil servants, public employees, laborers and armed forces according to age groups; and events for full-time Trade Union officials. The competition events include men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Ngoc Dang - Vice Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation - emphasized that the tournament contributes to promoting the movement of physical training and sports among union members, workers and armed forces; thereby improving health, cultural and spiritual life and creating motivation for emulation to successfully complete tasks.
The award is also a practical activity to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd, and at the same time respond to the Campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho".
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the matches took place enthusiastically and attractively with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, and nobility. Ba Sao Co., Ltd. is the main sponsor, awarding the championship cup to the first-place team and medals to athletes with high achievements.
