Trade unions in Lam Dong take care of housing, support workers to settle down

Lam Dong - Dong Thuy Company Limited's Trade Union coordinated to support housing, electricity, water... for more than 100 workers, helping to reduce costs by 3-4 million VND/person/month.

On September 27, Mr. Le Van Hoan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Dong Thuy Company Limited, in Duc Trong Commune, Lam Dong Province - said that the unit operates in the field of taxi services under the Lado brand.

In addition to Lam Dong, the company also expanded its operations in Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old), Phu Yen (old)... with a total of more than 1,000 employees. In Lam Dong alone, there are nearly 600 people, with an average income of about 11 million VND/month.

The grassroots trade union regularly coordinates with the Board of Directors to visit, give gifts, and provide timely support to union members and workers in difficulty and disaster. However, because many workers come from provinces and cities far from home, living conditions are still difficult.

From that reality, the trade union has proposed and received approval from the Board of Directors to implement solutions to support housing.

Specifically, the company has advanced land purchase to build houses for 20 workers in difficulty who wish to settle in the locality. The union guarantees that employees will pay in installments in accordance with their income.

In addition, the company also rented a house with a floor area of over 1,000m2 as free accommodation for more than 100 workers, including electricity and water.

The arrangement, arrangement and management of this housing area is done by the union, giving priority to people in need and those living far away so that they can stabilize their lives and feel secure in sticking with the company for a long time.

Mr. Vu Phuoc Thinh (from Ho Chi Minh City), who started working at Dong Thuy Company in May 2025, shared that he was admitted to the union just a few days after starting work and was among the first 20 people to be given a place to live by the company.

"Having a spacious and safe place to live, the brothers and sisters are very excited. Thanks to that, each person can reduce the cost of renting a house and electricity and water by 34 million VND per month - Mr. Vu Phuoc Thinh shared more.
