On August 24, the Labor Federation of Lang Son province visited and supported two families of union members and workers who were damaged by landslides in Hoa Binh 2 village, Chi Lang commune.
The landslide occurred on the night of August 23rd at Km156+300 National Highway 279, in the area of Hop Tien village adjacent to Hoa Binh 2 village. Soil and rocks spilled into the residential area, damaging houses, vehicles and many properties.
The family of Mr. Hoang Viet Kieu, doctor of the Department of Clinical Surgery, Chi Lang Regional Medical Center, suffered the heaviest damage. Large rocks damaged houses, vehicles, property and equipment, with a total estimated value of about 2 billion VND.
Not far from there, the house of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, a worker at the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Chi Lang commune, was also affected by soil and rocks, causing damage of about 500 million VND.
Information about the two cases was reported by the grassroots trade unions of units to the Provincial Labor Federation on the morning of August 24.
The unit then deducted from the Social Fund, supporting each family with 5 million VND to partially overcome the consequences and stabilize life.
The Provincial Labor Federation is requesting grassroots trade unions to continue to review the number of union members and workers affected by floods and landslides to organize visits and support depending on the extent of damage.
