Ho Chi Minh City - Lai Thieu Social Insurance (BHXH) facility will close social insurance books for 8 workers working at Sang Production - Import-Export - Trading Co., Ltd. Branch.

On August 24, the Binh Duong Trade Union Legal Consulting Center is supporting workers to sue Sang Production - Import-Export - Trading Co., Ltd. (headquarters in Thu Duc ward, branch in Thuan An ward) regarding this enterprise's debt to pay social insurance for 8 workers.

Regarding the handling of social insurance debt of the above enterprise, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance Agency said that this unit has only paid social insurance until September 2022, and has not yet paid social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance with a total amount of 648.3 million VND.

Lai Thieu grassroots social insurance has applied many urging measures including: sending documents, specialized inspections, coordinating with the police to invite business representatives to work and publicizing debt lists in the mass media.

At the beginning of August 2026, Lai Thieu Grassroots Social Insurance coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Region 16 and functional agencies to conduct direct inspections at the business address. However, Sang Production - Import-Export - Trading Co., Ltd. Branch has closed and moved out of Thuan An ward. Following that, the units went to the enterprise's headquarters in Thu Duc ward but could not meet the legal representative.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance, through information shared from tax data, the unit is still operating. The Social Insurance Agency will continue to coordinate with the agency to verify the operating status and work with the legal representative of this enterprise. At the same time, urge the enterprise to deduct and pay social insurance money to ensure the rights of employees.

Regarding the protection of workers' rights, Lai Thieu grassroots social insurance will carry out social insurance book confirmation (also known as book closing) until the time the enterprise has paid enough money (September 2022) so that workers can enjoy benefits when they meet the conditions. For the remaining time the enterprise is late in paying, it will be supplementally confirmed after the enterprise remedies the consequences.

Previously, at the end of July 2026, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting on the fact that Sang Production - Import-Export - Trading Co., Ltd. Branch owed social insurance for 8 workers. This prolonged situation affects the rights of workers and workers who cannot finalize social insurance books to continue participating in social insurance and are not entitled to maternity benefits and health insurance policies.
