The Government Office has just issued document No. 8718/VPCP-CN dated August 24, 2026, conveying the opinion of Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc requesting to inspect information reflecting on road electronic toll collection activities.
Regarding some information reflected on online newspapers related to the frustration of traffic participants with the policy of collecting fees for using e-wallets associated with road traffic electronic payment activities, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc has the following opinion:
The Ministry of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with Ministries and agencies: Finance, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology, and the State Bank of Vietnam to inspect, review, and rectify violations (if any) in electronic toll collection activities and applications on the electronic toll collection application platform of non-stop electronic toll collection service providers, ensuring compliance with the provisions of law, in accordance with the Toll Collection Contract (BOO), and not affecting the legitimate rights and interests of traffic participants.
At the same time, continue to review and improve legal regulations on electronic road transport payments, ensuring strictness, publicity, transparency, and harmony of interests of the state, people and businesses.
