In the first months of 2026, trade union levels in Lao Cai province will promote care for life, improve working conditions, thereby creating a bond between workers and businesses and trade union organizations.
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, by March 2026, the whole province had 517 grassroots trade unions with more than 41,000 union members.
Right from the beginning of the year, trade union levels have proactively coordinated with businesses and grassroots units to implement many activities towards workers.
Records from reality show that the majority of businesses maintain stable production and ensure jobs.
The average income of employees ranges from 9 to 10.1 million VND/person/month depending on the type of enterprise. Basic regimes on salaries, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance are fully implemented.
However, at some small businesses, seasonal production still occurs the situation of workers losing their jobs due to short-term contracts. Some units have not fully fulfilled their obligations to pay insurance for employees.
Faced with this reality, the trade union organization has strengthened grasping the situation, promptly supporting and providing legal advice.
On April 4, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Phan Huy Cuong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation said: "We focus on grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members, and at the same time coordinate to organize employee conferences, implement grassroots democracy regulations to protect the legitimate rights of employees.
Along with that, activities to ensure labor safety and hygiene, and food hygiene at enterprises are being concerned.
Many grassroots trade unions coordinate to inspect working conditions, improve the quality of meals, contributing to reducing risks and improving workers' health.
Caring activities continue to be a clear highlight. During the 2026 Lunar New Year, more than 46,000 turns of union members and workers were supported with a total budget of over 75.6 billion VND.
Programs such as "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party", "Trade Union Tet Market" are organized widely, creating a warm and sharing atmosphere.
Not only that, the trade union also implemented housing support for "Trade Union Shelter", loans to create jobs, and visits union members in difficult circumstances.
In the first quarter alone, 6 "Trade Union Shelter" houses were supported, contributing to helping workers stabilize their lives.
Propaganda work has also been promoted, focusing on political tasks, especially propaganda about Party congresses, elections of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, the psychology of workers in the province is basically stable and trusts the trade union organization. After the Tet holiday, most workers return to work on time and actively participate in production.
In the second quarter, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation determined to continue to promote care and protection of workers' rights; effectively organize Workers' Month, strengthen dialogue at the workplace, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
