On the morning of April 3, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation organized a quarterly meeting for the second quarter of 2026 to assess the results of trade union activities in the first quarter and deploy tasks for the coming time.
Attending the conference were Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ); along with leaders of departments, trade union branches and grassroots trade unions in the area.

In the first quarter of 2026, trade union levels have proactively coordinated to implement the Grassroots Democracy Regulation; organized conferences of cadres, civil servants, public employees and employee conferences according to regulations.
The whole province has 8/17 collective labor agreements newly signed, reaching 47% of the plan. The rate of units promulgating and implementing democracy regulations reached from 68% to 79% in all blocs.
The work of caring for union members and workers during Tet is being implemented synchronously. From support sources, trade union levels have cared for more than 46,000 turns of union members, with a total budget of over 75.6 billion VND.

At the same time, 188 "trade union year-end meals" were organized, attracting more than 24,000 workers to participate.
Regarding union member development, the whole province admitted 400 new union members and established 4 grassroots trade unions. Financial work has positive changes, collecting trade union fees of over 9 billion VND, equivalent to more than 21% of the annual plan.
The conference also thoroughly grasped important Party documents related to propaganda, political and ideological education, and cultural development among workers and laborers.
In addition, delegates focused on discussing, pointing out shortcomings and limitations, and proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in the second quarter.
Concluding, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem requested trade union levels to continue to effectively implement resolutions and tasks for 2026; improve the quality of representation, care, and protection of workers' rights. Promote dialogue at the workplace, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements in a direction that is more beneficial to workers.
Along with that, focus on effectively organizing "Workers' Month" and "Action Month on occupational safety and health" in 2026; strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of regulations at enterprises; proactively grasp the situation of life, employment, and income of workers.

Trade union levels are also required to promote digital transformation, improve the effectiveness of propaganda on digital platforms; strengthen financial management, urge collection of trade union fees, and ensure resources to care for union members.
On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded the title of Grassroots Emulation Soldier to trade union officials with outstanding achievements, contributing to encouraging and motivating grassroots trade union officials.
