On the afternoon of June 30, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation organized a conference to summarize 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo; and at the same time summarize 15 years of implementing resolutions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on innovating grassroots trade union activities and women's work.
According to the report, in the past 5 years, trade union levels in the province have constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, focusing on caring for, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
The whole province newly established 223 grassroots trade unions, admitted 22,338 union members, introduced 14,165 outstanding union members for the Party to consider admitting and organized 138 professional training classes for more than 11,600 turns of trade union officials.
Regarding women's work, in the past 15 years, trade union levels have organized more than 2,250 legal propaganda sessions for over 285,000 female union members; maintained many care activities such as "Trade Union Homes", "Trade Union Meals", awarded scholarships to children of workers and supported female union members in difficult circumstances.
Female workers, civil servants, and laborers throughout the province also have more than 17,800 initiatives applied in practice.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Cao Minh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation - requested trade union levels to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; improve the effectiveness of representing and protecting workers.
Promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions in the non-state sector and strengthen digital transformation in trade union activities.
On this occasion, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation awarded Certificates of Merit to 28 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the resolutions of the Politburo and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
