On April 28, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation said that trade union levels are simultaneously implementing many solutions to contribute to building "drug-free communes and wards", creating a safe living and working environment for workers.
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, drugs are not only a social threat but also directly threaten the lives of workers, affecting the stability and development of businesses.

Faced with that reality, the trade union organization clearly defines its role and responsibility in propaganda and prevention from the grassroots level, with the goal of working with the whole province to complete the construction of 100% of communes and wards without drugs by 2026.
This task is concretized by clearly assigning responsibilities to each level of trade union, especially the heads in propaganda and mobilization of union members and workers to comply with the law.

Each union member is identified not only as protecting themselves but also as a "propagandist" at work and in residential areas.
We determine that building'drug-free communes and wards' must start from the grassroots level, from each union member. When each worker has a full awareness and proactively prevents, a solid'shield' will be formed early and from afar," said Phan Huy Cuong, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation.
Propaganda work has been innovated in a concise, easy-to-understand, and accessible direction. Trade union levels promote the application of digital platforms, connecting with information channels of the police force to promptly update warnings about new types of drugs.

Along with that, the system of banners and posters is widely deployed at agencies, units, and businesses, creating a spreading effect in the community.
Channels for receiving crime denunciations are also made public, encouraging workers to participate in detecting and fighting against social evils.
Not stopping at propaganda, the trade union also coordinates with businesses to build a "drug-free business" model, organize signing commitments to comply with the law, and conduct periodic health screenings to detect early risks.
The trade union's point of view is to take prevention as the main thing, taking the basis as the foundation. When the working environment is safe and workers are equipped with full knowledge, drugs will no longer have the opportunity to penetrate," Mr. Phan Huy Cuong emphasized.

In addition, drug prevention and control work is integrated with emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers, contributing to raising the self-awareness of each individual.
The trade union organization also affirmed that it will not discriminate, and is ready to support cases that have violated to reintegrate into the community and stabilize jobs.
With synchronous involvement, each agency, unit, and business is becoming a "fortune" for drug prevention and control, contributing to building a safe and healthy living and working environment in the province.
