The Trade Union of Yen Bai Vocational College has just launched a fundraising campaign to support the people of Lao Cai province to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10.
Storm No. 10 caused serious damage to Lao Cai, killing and leaving 20 people missing, damaging thousands of homes, and causing total estimated damage of more than VND2,750 billion. Yen Bai Vocational College alone has 19 families of staff and civil servants affected.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Do Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal, President of the school's Trade Union emphasized: "Sholes of natural disasters can sweep away houses and assets, but cannot sweep away the spirit of mutual love of the Vietnamese people. Every heart that shares, no matter how small, contributes to giving determination to people in flood-affected areas".
Responding to the call, all cadres, civil servants and workers in the school have donated at least one day's salary, contract cadres support 50,000 VND/person.

The total amount of money mobilized is 65.107 million VND, which has been transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province to promptly support people in disaster areas.
This activity demonstrates social responsibility, spreading the tradition of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves".
At the same time, it affirmed the core role of the Trade Union organization in caring for union members, contributing to the community, building the image of teachers and workers in the vocational education sector who are rich in compassion and affection.
