On the afternoon of December 31, the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor held the 4th Executive Committee Conference, term XI (expanded) to summarize the labor movement and trade union activities in 2024, and deploy tasks for 2025.
Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province attended and directed the conference.
In 2024, the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor has concretized the contents and resolutions into programs and activities for implementation. Activities aimed at the grassroots especially focus on caring for, protecting, and meeting the lives and aspirations of union members and workers. Thereby creating peace of mind for union members and workers to participate in labor and production.
As a result, 64,793 union members and employees were supported with gifts, with a total cost of over 26.4 billion VND. From the Trade Union Shelter Fund, the Labor Federation supported the construction and repair of 57 Trade Union Shelters worth 2.81 billion VND.
In 2024, 6,674 union members were developed, 25 new grassroots unions were established, including 7 informal unions (achieving 233% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor).
Propaganda and education work is flexible, promoting the activities of the Electronic Information page, Zalo, Fanpage, YouTube of Soc Trang Trade Union with many visits and interactions.
Regarding the implementation of assigned targets in 2024, the unit achieved and exceeded 11/11 targets. The Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor is 1 of 2 units in the Nam Song Hau Emulation Cluster to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for excellently completing its tasks in 2024.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province - commended the achievements of the Trade Unions at all levels in the province.
At the same time, it is recommended that trade unions at all levels continue to perform well the task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of, and grasping the thoughts of union members and workers.
Promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions, especially in the non-state sector. Regularly pay attention to directing the training and creation of sources to introduce outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit. Effectively implement Resolution No. 18 of the Party Central Committee on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently; participate in contributing opinions to the documents of Party congresses at all levels and the Soc Trang Provincial Party Congress.
The Provincial Party Committee leaders requested that all levels of the Trade Union do a good job of taking care of union members and workers on the occasion of the 2025 Lunar New Year with the spirit of "so that all union members and workers can have Tet".
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation awarded emulation flags to 4 collectives with outstanding achievements; awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 collectives with outstanding achievements in emulation activities of Clusters and Blocks under the Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation in 2024.
Recognizing 2 outstanding collectives leading the emulation clusters and blocks under the Provincial Federation of Labor, qualified to receive the Emulation Flag of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor in 2024.
