In order to promptly care for and support union members and workers affected by storm No. 3, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation visited, encouraged and provided support to union members and workers in Soc Son district affected by storms and floods.
At the places visited, including Cau Xay Joint Stock Company and Xuan Hoa Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company, leaders of the Hanoi City Labor Federation grasped the damage situation of the unit and the life and work of union members and workers.
Cau Xay Joint Stock Company said that the company has 149 employees. Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the company was completely flooded, the production line was suspended, workers were unemployed, and the initial damage was estimated at about 900 million VND. Currently, the company has 12 rooms for 12 households of union members and workers who are far from home that were flooded. Union members and workers who have no place to stay have to move to the houses of neighboring households.
At Xuan Hoa Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company - where there are 153 workers - due to the impact of storm No. 3, the company was completely flooded, the production line was suspended, workers were unemployed, and the initial damage was estimated at about 2 billion VND. The company has 15 rooms for 60 union members and workers far from home that were flooded. Currently, union members and workers still have to stay in place, without electricity and water, life is very difficult.
Leaders of the Hanoi City Labor Federation directly presented the support amount of 2 million VND/person from the Trade Union organization to 60 union members and employees of Xuan Hoa Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company and 12 union members and employees of Cau Xay Joint Stock Company.
Ms. Ta Thi Kim Lien - one of the workers of Cau Xay Joint Stock Company who received support shared: “Due to the impact of storm No. 3, our work was suspended and our daily lives were disrupted. During this difficult time, I was very touched and grateful to be directly visited, encouraged and supported by the leaders of the Hanoi City Labor Federation. I hope that the damage caused by storm No. 3 to the Company will soon be overcome so that the lives and work of the workers can be stabilized. I myself will also make every effort to help the Company overcome the damage and restore production.”
Representatives of the units also sent sincere thanks to the leaders of the City Labor Federation and affirmed that they will focus on overcoming the damage and soon restore production to ensure the lives and jobs of workers.
