On September 13, Mr. Phan Van Ban - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union, said that the industry's trade union has requested the grassroots trade union and affiliated grassroots trade unions to call on and mobilize civil servants, public employees, union members and workers to uphold the spirit of solidarity, "mutual love" and actively participate in supporting, sharing and helping materially and spiritually with people facing difficulties due to the impact of storms and floods, and contribute together with the Party, State and trade union organizations to support enterprises in the industry and trade sector to quickly restore production and stabilize the lives and jobs of union members and workers.
“The general level of mobilization is for cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members and employees to earn one day's salary/income or more. The amount of donations and support from union members and employees of the units will be transferred to the Mobilization Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the same level or transferred to the Vietnam Trade Union for unified transfer to the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor according to regulations. The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Trade Union acknowledges and expresses gratitude for the sentiments, kindness and noble hearts of union members and employees and commits to publicly and transparently disclose the sources of funding and support through the union organization in the entire industry,” said Mr. Phan Van Ban.
Along with that, implementing Official Dispatch No. 2038/TLD-QHLD of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on caring for and supporting union members and employees affected by storm No. 3 in 2024, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade requests that union levels under the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade continue to proactively grasp the situation and support union members and employees in areas where the storm passes, with the highest spirit, fastest, most timely, directly to the families of workers affected by storm No. 3.
The leaders of the industry's trade unions requested that units proactively send a document to the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade to request support for workers and employees affected by storm No. 3 (through the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund). The beneficiaries of support are workers and employees who died due to the storm - 10 million VND/dead person; workers and employees who were seriously injured and had to be hospitalized for treatment, support from 1 to 5 million VND/person.
For units directly affected by storm No. 3, based on the level of property damage (roofs blown off, floods swept away, landslides, damaged houses that need immediate repair, etc.), promptly support units and employees to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives depending on the level of damage with support levels from 1 to 3 million VND/case (from accumulated regular spending funds).
For affiliated units that cannot balance the resources, send a written request for support based on reality (the request clearly states the subject, extent of damage and specific support level with confirmation from experts) so that the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade can provide timely support to units and employees.
