Gia Lam District Labor Federation is currently directly managing 303 grassroots unions with 17,615 union members. Of which, the school sector has 88 grassroots unions with 3,749 union members. The grassroots unions actively register and make a list of union members who need to borrow capital from the Capital Poor Workers Support Fund to borrow capital to develop their family economy. Currently, 135 union members of the School sector have borrowed 4.7 billion VND from the Capital Support Fund. Thereby contributing to job creation and increasing income for union members' families.
The school unions have also actively participated in management and closely coordinated with school leaders to effectively implement the Democratic Regulations. In the 2023-2024 school year, 78/78 units organized conferences for cadres, civil servants , and public employees, reaching 100%; 1 non-public unit organized a conference for workers. The school unions actively proposed and coordinated with the authorities to organize care for working conditions, build school units with the goal: Green - Clean - Beautiful. Patriotic emulation movements and large-scale social campaigns among cadres, teachers and employees were also effectively organized and implemented by the Trade Union of schools, especially movements such as "Two Goods", "Initiatives and Creativity", "Innovation and Creativity in Teaching and Learning"... Last school year, 100% of schools had innovative experiences and organized classification.
Among the 50 creative initiatives recently commended and disseminated by the District Labor Federation, the school sector had 10 initiatives. Implementing the "Gia Lam Dedicated and Creative Teacher" Award, 2 teachers, Nguyen Thi Hoai Giang - Principal of Kim Lan Kindergarten and Nguyen Thi Thu Dong - Principal of Quang Trung Primary School, were recognized by the City as being in the top 10 of the 7th "Hanoi Dedicated and Creative Teacher" Award.
