Taking place from April 11 to May 8, the English Self-study Month attracted the participation of 313 secondary and high schools, with a total of 98,795 students and 2,049 teachers registered. Of which, there are 68,130 secondary school students and 26,436 high school students.
At the end of the program, 37,456 students completed the English proficiency test, accounting for 37.91%. At the same time, more than 26,800 students study online English courses, including Academic English, English Foundation programs and IELTS preparation courses - reflecting a clear change in the awareness of the importance of foreign languages in learning and integrating.
At the summary ceremony, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong province commended and rewarded 132 students, 11 teachers, 6 schools and 2 educational departments with outstanding achievements. Five-Star E-Learning Joint Stock Company and the Tam Long Viet Fund awarded 120 scholarships to poor students overcoming difficulties.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the Department of Education and Training emphasized: English Self-study month is the beginning of a lifelong learning journey, contributing to building a positive learning culture in schools. Self-study is not only a short-term movement, but needs to become the air of Hai Duong students - resilient, innovative, autonomous and progressive.
In the coming time, the Hai Duong education sector will continue to launch the "Summer for self-study of English" movement, encouraging students to take advantage of summer time to practice and improve their qualifications, gradually realizing the goal of making English the second language in schools, in the spirit of Conclusion 91-KL/TW of the Politburo.
